RSVP now for our first meeting of 2012: PowerfulPointers!

Our first meeting of 2012 will be a webcast on Thursday evening, February 16, presenting Professor Michael Alley of Pennsylvania State University on Rethinking the Design of Presentation Slides. Professor Alley will tell us what's wrong with the typical way of putting together an oral presentation, and what we can do to improve comprehension and retention. The meeting is free and open to APMP members and guests, but reservations are required because of security requirements at some of our venues. Please see the Calendar page for details.

Hats Off to a Successful Training Day

Five dozen proposal professionals gathered in Anaheim on October 21 to share ideas, insights, and best practices for The Proposal Process: Start to Finish. For a summary of the event and photos, please see our News page. Copies of the presentation are available on our Library page. APMP-Socal members can discuss the conference and post messages on the Socal Community web page via www.apmp.org (click on Communities, then Chapters, then Socal).

A new award for procurement best practices

APMP has established a new award, to be given for the first time at our 2012 conference in Dallas, to honor government and private-sector agencies that exhibit excellent procurement practices. APMP members can nominate customers that employ exemplary practices to provide clarity, fair competition, and efficiency in the bidding and evaluation process. To learn how to make a nomination, please see our News page.

See us on LinkedIn and Facebook

We now have APMP SoCal groups on Facebook and LinkedIn – if you are registered on either of these networks, please join the APMP SoCal group to show your support. This is one of several outreach efforts, however the most effective outreach method we have is YOU – your personal referral, or better yet please bring a colleague to our next meeting. Our thanks go out to Robert Bunnett for getting us up and running on the networking sites.
